Rosberg Scores a Big Win in Russia

Nico Rosberg has now won a total of seven straight Formula1 races; four this year, in addition to the three races he won at the end of the 2015 season.  He and his Mercedes are clearly the combination to beat.

The top finishing order was:

  1. Nico Rosberg
  2. Lewis Hamilton (25 seconds back)
  3. Kimi Raikkonen
  4. Valterri Bottas
  5. Felipe Massa

The race highlight was on the opening lap when Sebastian Vettel was hit by Daniil Kvyat and taken out.  Vettel flipped out, with several choice words for Kvyat.  I really cannot blame Vettel for being upset as Kvyat clearly blew it.  This is the second race this season that Vettel has not finished.

Mercedes continues to be the team to beat.  I keep hoping that things will become more interesting at the front; however, I don’t see this happening.  Maybe Lewis Hamilton will get some of his special lucky mojo back and we will see some good racing between teammates.

Looking forward to the Spanish Grand Prix on May 15, 2016.
