Starting top qualifiers:
1st Valentino Rossi/Yamaha
2nd Jorge Lorenzo/Yamaha
3rd Marc Marquez/Honda
4th Andrea Dovizioso/Ducati
5th Maverick Vinales/Suzuki
After crashing out at Austin, Valentino Rossi was able to keep his mojo in gear and bagged top qualifying spot followed by Lorenzo and Marquez.
Rossi got a great start followed by Lorenzo, Marquez, Pedrosa/Honda and Espargaro/Suzuki. By Lap 5, Rossi was 1.4 seconds ahead of Lorenzo who was followed by Marquez, Pedrosa and Espargaro.
Rossi continued to pull away. He set his own pace and dominated the race leading Lorenzo by over 3 seconds at the checker. Espargaro on Suzuki made a good showing almost catching Pedrosa in the last laps of the race.
I am a Rossi fan and love seeing him win; however, this race was BORING. A freight train all the way without any significant passing in the top five. So, on to the French MotorGP, May 8th with the hope that we will see some action at the front of the pack.
Finishing order was: 1st Rossi, 2nd Lorenzo, 3rd Marquez, 4th Pedrosa and 5th Espargo.
Current Riders Standings:
1st Marc Marquez with 82 points
2nd Jorge Lorenzo with 65 points
3rd Valentino Rossi with 58 points
4th Dani Pedrosa with 40 points
5th Pol Espargo with 36 points.
