Yesterday, April 21, 2016, in Federal Court, Volkswagen proposed a broad plan to compensate about 500,000 U.S. owners of their diesel cars in an effort to resolve emission issues caused by Volkswagens admitted emissions cheating-wrong doing.

The plan involves Volkswagen buying back the cars, canceling leases or fixing the cars to meet emission standards plus “substantial compensation” for car owners.  The federal judge gave VW until June 21, 2016, to nail down the details of the plan.  Hopefully those affected owners can now look forward to resolution
