Looks like Marquez/Honda are off to a great start for the 2016 MotoGP season taking a well deserved win at Austin. Marquez was smooth and dominant and his Honda worked perfectly followed by Lorenzo/Honda and Iannone/Ducati.
I know it is early in the season; however, Marquez looks so good, at least at this point, I cannot foresee anyone coming close to him as the season progresses. I hope I am wrong because I would love to see the guys mixing it up to keep things interesting.
The Current MotoGP Standings are:
- Marc Marquez (Honda) – 66 points
- Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) -45 points
- Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) -33 points
Formula 1 will revert to last year’s format for this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix after the World Motor Sport Council ratified the proposal on Monday. This means that this season will introduce a new elimination format and a proposed system based on total times.
The FIA said:
“The World Motor Sport Council today approved, via e-vote, the decision to revert to last season’s qualification format for the remainder of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship.”
“The format, where the slowest six cars are eliminated at the end of the first two qualifying sessions before a final 10-car shootout for Pole in Q3, will return for this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix.”
Don’t forget to watch the Formula 1 Race this weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix at 11:00PM (Pacific Time) in Shanghai.
